1.4 gm carbohydrate;
1.4 mg calcium;
1.7 mg phosphorus;
.03 mg iron;
16 mg potassium;
1.5 units A;
.003 mg B-1;
.001 mg B-2;
.015 mg niacin;
5 mg C.
Lime is a citrus fruit known for its tart, refreshing flavor and for its high vitamin C content. (The term “limey” for the British sailor dates back to the time when the British navy used this fruit in its program to prevent scurvy severe vitamin C deficiency while at sea for long periods of time.) Vitamin C has also proved an aid against some forms of allergies, hay fever, asthma, eczema, hives, infections, fins, colds, shingles, pyorrhea, excessive bruising, bleeding gums, and spontaneous nosebleeds.
