196 mg phosphorus;

2 mg niacin.

This seafood, octopus,  is low in calories and fats, with no carbohydrates. It is rich in protein, important for building bodily tissues, especially muscles, hair, skin, and fingernails, for growth, maintenance of health and recovery from disease, and for the body’s formation of hormones, antibodies, and enzymes. Octopus is also rich in calcium, a possible aid against over-sensitivity to pain, nervousness, insomnia, tooth decay, leg and foot cramps, menstrual cramps, colitis and constipation migraine headaches, and the itching of hives, and is especially important in the year before the onset of menstruation and during menopause. Octopus also provides a good amount of B-1, for growth and for normal functioning of the muscles, heart, and nerve tissues; of B-2, for the health of the skin, eyes, and mouth; and of niacin, important for the normal functioning of the nervous and gastrointestinal systems, for healthy skin, and for the body’s utilization of sugar.
