Beer nutrition information
1 cup beer (standard commercial) contains:
115 cal;
.72 gm protein (incomplete);
9 gm carbohydrate.
The beer family is a large one. Ale has basically the same ingredients as beer, but is fermented at a higher temperature; bock beer is darker, sweeter, and more alcoholic than standard commercial beers; porter is a slightly sweeter type of dark ale; and stout is even stronger and sweeter than porter. Generally, imported beers have a higher alcoholic content than do domestic beers. Beer that is canned or bottled is usually pasteurized to make it last; draft beer is not. Beer has a slight trace of B vitamins, but otherwise provides little more than calories. While beer is generally less fattening than mixed drinks, there is a tendency to drink more beer, which offsets this slight advantage.
