All varieties have a good supply of copper and manganese, both of which are needed for the proper development of bones. They have a medium calorie count and are low in rough age. They make a good dessert or after school snack in place of cookies or candies. However, leave that maraschino cherry in the bottom of your Manhattan glass. It is over sweetened and processed and the coloring agent used is one that has been removed from use by the FDA for all except this coloring purpose because of possibly detrimental side effects.
