Pheasants
4 oz pheasant (uncooked; 13% bones) contain:
149 cal;
24 in protein (complete);
5 gm fat.
Pheasants are available frozen in a few markets. No extensive nutritional analysis available, but it is known that pheasants are relatively low in calories and provide an exceptionally good amount of protein, an aid to the formation of all tissues, including muscles, skin, hair, nails, and internal organs, as well as for the burning of fat, for normal digestion, for proper liver function, for the proper clotting of blood, and for the body’s formation of hormones, hemoglobin, antibodies, and energy producing enzymes. Pheasants are quite low fat, making them one of the few “elegant” foods that may be eaten by those on weight reduction and cholesterol lowering diets.
